Year 12 recently viewed the second part of a very powerful
presentation from Kate Fitzsimons. Kate combined her expertise as a certified
life coach with the powerful journey of rebuilding her life after the loss of
her sister six years ago from a tragic accident.
Students learnt about the power of their own choices. They
learnt how to take responsibility for their personal responses to unforeseen
and unwelcome circumstances by developing a 'growth mindset.' In
Kate's journey she eventually saw that she had two choices, to play the victim
or to pick up the pieces and find meaning from the bad events that had happened
to her family.
The presentation gave practical tips to develop a growth mindset
every day, and students will be able to apply these new skills and adopt an
improved sense of emotional empowerment and resilience during difficult times.
Kate has been dubbed one of Australia’s top 100 Women of Influence, and she has
spoken to over 50,000 teens in over 100 schools across the country.
